Season 6 continued the trend with FRIENDS of big star
guest appearance. The early part of the season saw Joey getting a new flatmate
Janine (played by our own Elle) and later on (after Matthew Perry had filmed "The
Whole Nine Yards" with Bruce Willis), Bruno himself made a few appearances as Paul,
the Father of Ross's univerity Student Girlfriend Elizabeth.
Season 6, Disc 3 contains the following episodes
- The One With Unagi
- The One Where Ross Dates a Student
- The One with Joey's Fridge
- The One with M.A.C.& C.H.E.E.S.E
- The One Where Ross Meets Elizabeth's Dad (Guest star Bruce
Willis)
- The One Where Paul's the Man
- The One With the Ring
- The One With The Proposal (2 parter)
Season 6 was first released in 1999. |
So how does this transfer hold up?
.... |
VIDEO
Again, The 1.33:1 transfer really shows no improvements (and actually introduces a few
more on the B Side only) to the average quality of Season 6, Discs 1 or 2
On the FINAL Episode of Side B at 1.13 is an incredibly
nasty MPEG artifacting problem, at least on my Pioneer player. While Monica is
talking to Richard in her Work Kitchen she steps toward camera and the bottom half of the
screen breaks up with part of the TOP image included. really nasty stuff. Via
my DVD-ROM this problem did not reproduce itself. If anyone else out there has
noticed this problem Please drop us a line
with your DVD Player Details, etc.
The haziness is still there and so there is quite a severe
lack of any refined detail to the image, and in addition to this problem (evident on disc
1 and 2) is a slight increased edginess to the overall image. Colour Saturation is
still quite nice, but looks a little stronger, and therefore a little too saturated.
There are 4 episodes on the first side of the disc and last
last 5 of Season 6 on the flip side. |

AUDIO
May as well repeat what i said last time around.
May as well repeat what i said last time around.
The Audio comes in a Dolby 2.0 mix which is centre channel focused for
all onscreen action.
Audience laugher can be heard from the sides so the overall spread appears nice and wide,
but that's about it.
Dialalgoue is highly intellegable, which one expects for a
sitcom. |

EXTRAS
The Only Extra also included on this DVD is the PC Friendly
Web Interface with some Web Links.
Season 6 Disc 3 contains some great guest appearances and is a great 3rd act to wrap on.
Fans will no doubt want these 9 episodes also, even with the lacklustre treatment given to
the video transfer. |
