I actually met these guys years ago when they first
became famous at a shopping centre in Brisbane where I worked at the time.
They have certainly change since then but more in a way of growing up rather than
having become pretentious about there sky rocketing career.
The concert starts with a little behind the scenes footage and quickly booms into the
Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
The concert list is:
The Best Thing / Break Me Shake Me / To the Moon and Back / The Lover After me / I
Dont Know You Anymore / Santa Monica / Two Beds and a Coffee Machine / You Can Still
Be Free / The Animal Song / Hold Me / Gunning Down Romance / Crash and Burn / Truly,
Madly, Deeply / Chained to You / I Want You / I Knew I Loved You / Affirmation.
All I can say really is what a great concert! Im a huge fan so Im a little
bias though.
So how does this transfer hold up?

VIDEO
This 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer is another superb
production from Village Roadshow. The images are sharp and clear throughout and given the
nature of the content this would have been very difficult. The mixture of camera shots
from close ups to very wide shots would lend themselves to blurring and graininess but
this is handled beautifully here.
The colour palette is also handled well and where I would expect to lose shadow detail
in the dark nighttime scenes this never happens. The colours are beautifully rendered
bright and clear and punchy which is what the subject matter calls for.
But I have to say the best feature in this transfer is the multiangle function during
The Animal Song, Affirmation and Crash and Burn. Between 2 and 4 angles are available and
believe me this is a very cool feature!
AUDIO
I expected nothing short of perfect from this group and from the studio really. I was
certainly not disappointed. The audio track is superb, and even though it is a live
concert, crowd noise, and other background noise, which drowns out what you are trying to
hear, do not overwhelm you.
The surround channels are used constantly and the base channel is also very active.
The lyrics to the songs are always clear and easy to understand over the music and the
crowd noise, which is quite surprising.
I was disappointed I never saw Savage Garden in concert but somehow I get the feeling
this is nearly as good.
EXTRAS
Nice animated menus
Commentary from Daniel and Darren. : A great idea to include commentaries, which you
can choose to watch just one song with commentary or watch all of them. A very cute little
popup window of the feature with the interview
Multi Angle Selections: As mentioned in the transfer section.
Bonus Music Videos: I Knew I loved You, Crash and Burn and Affirmation
Parallel Lives Doco: 25 minutes of fabulous little behind the scenes tid bits. This is
a real behind the scenes feature not an extended promo.
