Ernie and Lars Smuntz have inherited their fathers
String factory and have promised to keep it in the family and keep the factory running.
Theyre surprised to also learn they have inherited an abandoned house. After their
dismay at thinking the house is worth nothing and there is still money owing on it they
learn that it is in fact an architectural masterpiece, and is the missing house in the
Charles Lyle La Rue collection. The house immediately presents an incentive to fix it up
and auction it for many millions. The offers are pouring in and the two clumsy brothers
set about restoring it.
To their amazement though there is one little mouse who is intent on staying right
where he is.
The entire film is basically built on the comedic antics inspired by the determined
little mouse. It may not sound like much of a plot but it certainly is funny Ill
give it that. Children and adults alike will love it! |
So how does this transfer hold up?
.... |
VIDEO
I could really wrap this up in one word and be done. The transfer is perfect, reference
quality throughout. Presented at 1.85:1 the transfer is Anamorphic Widescreen
The images are extremely sharp and clear throughout, there
is no grain no, mpeg artefacts, and no ailiasing or shimmering.
The colour palette is beautifully rendered for all the emotions contained in the film.
From dismal snowy scenes to warm interiors this is truly magnificent. Shadow detail is
equally good and there is no loss of detail at any time.
Basically I could not find any fault at all with this transfer. Not even a small one. |
AUDIO
The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio transfer is on equal par with
the video transfer and again I cannot find fault here at all.
Dialogue is clear and easy to understand throughout and
there are no audio sync problems.
The surround speakers are used to full effect to support directional effects, and the
comedic score. Similarly the LFE channel was constantly felt but never really made a big
impact.
