Well it’s embarrassing to say that I too remember Bananas in Pyjamas from good ol’ playschool when I was a kid and I always loved them. As much as I tried to differentiate between B1 and B2 it was never easy and I never really had a favourite.

Now it seems that Bananas in Pyjamas is as big as the wiggles or even Hi Five. I don’t have kids [ed.. best I leave this comment blank ] of my own but I notice the B1 and B2 seem to be more prevalent now than ever.

The ABC have cashed in again on something that is sure to be a money-spinner. Many parents love the idea of being able to throw on something like this to keep the kids entertained for hours.

This dvd is basically a collection of 10 episodes of entertainment from the Bananas and a few other characters.

I certainly wasn’t overly impressed but then I’m about 20 years [ed. oh! devil woman how you mock me so ] too old for this kind of entertainment

So how does this transfer hold up?

VIDEO
The 4:3 full frame transfer is little more than I expected, and is really the same as watching a video of this. Yes that thing with moving parts in it! The source material for this dvd has come from Video so don’t expect anything more than a substandard and grainy transfer. The colour spectrum wasn’t too bad and at times seemed a bit flatter than usual.

AUDIO
The Dolby Digital 2 channel audio track is again nothing more than i expected. This isn’t big budget film we’re talking about more something of a quick fix for the kiddies and really that’s all the effort that has been made.
