UNIVERSAL announces HD DVD for Australia | |
30th October 2006.
In conjuction with Toshiba, Universal Pictures Australia officially announced their commitment to launching titles on the HD DVD format, with initial titles hitting Australian stores just in time for Christmas, on 10th December 2006.
The first batch of Universal HD DVDs include :- Apollo 13, Doom, King Kong, Serenity, Jarhead, Van Helsing, Bourne Supremacy
Technical specifications and pricings for the Australia version of these titles is not yet known.
To date, The only local studios/distributors to announc pre-christmas High-Definition disc releases are:- 20th Century Fox (blu-ray), Paramount(blu-ray & hd dvd), Warner(blu-ray and hd dvd), Sony Pictures(blu-ray), Rajon Music (blu-ray & hd dvd) and the above mentioned Universal (hd dvd)
