You'll find some menu shots from the upcoming Queen of the Damned, We Were Soldiers, Showtime, Spy Game, and Star Trek TNG Season 3. Of Particular note is the "borg design" menu shot for The Best of Both Worlds Part 1...sweeeet.
DVD Slicks and Menus
Seems the boys are still hard at work and bringing their Zombie-fest to the
big screen. Here's the latest on their Film Project.
Hi Matt
Michael and I have been working around the clock to get the film finished.
We have just mastered the film to High Definition and are about to start the colour grade.
The HD master looks amasing considering it was shot on Super 16mm. We have
completed all of the 305 visual effects shot. All the music and sound is complete.
As for distribution all I can tell you at this stage is that it is looking very
positive. A limited edition soundtrack CD may also be released. I will give
you more details as soon as I have them.
Regards,
PETER
Here's a quick rundown of a select number of DVDs coming over the next few months
In September Paramount are turning up the heat in preparation for some rabbit boiling.. yes that's right! Fatal Attraction
is coming to region 4 DVD, Anamorphic Widescreen + Dolby 5.1 sound. AND it includes the Oiginal
film ending as one of the extras, along with a comm track!
Jason also makes a return to Crystal Lake in Friday the 13th Part 6 : Jason Lives!
(picture is Anamorphic Widescreen + Dolby 2.0 Sound) (btw rumour has
it that part 7 'might get a dolby 5.1 track!..!NEW! see above for more info)
In a new deal for movie releases, Warner have nabbed the rights to distribute Icon Pictures. (Mel Gibson's film company). Their first movie to be released thru the new deal is the latest in the seemingly long line of War films , We
Were Soldiders. Soldiers sports an Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer
AND a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX track (and it's an absolute cracker!!), there's also a Randall Wallace Commentary amongst the many extras.
Not only is region 4 getting the Back to the Future Trilogy on DVDs months ahead of the rest of the world, word just got out that the USA release is coming WITHOUT DTS 5.1 Audio tracks, in favour of "extras features". Given All 3 Region 4 DVDs are far from being on the slim slide in this department, it kinda makes the choice an easy one! :)We've also got a sneak peak at all 7 discs for Star Trek : TNG Season 3 DVD Boxset

Spiders & Monsters Having a Ball
Thought only 2 releases have been announced this November from Columbia.
They're both pretty high profile titles, though not for the same reason. Just having
finished it's Theatrical release in OZ, Sam Raimi's spin on Spiderman was
a box office sensation, and in only 4 short months has made it's way into the top 10
highest grossing films of all time, beating even Star Wars Episode 2.
For it's November DVD release, CTHE are offering not only a 2 disc DVD set, but also a
collector's Edition 4 disc set!!
On the flipside, is Monster's Ball. The

Don't Be Mad.. it's finally here!
After a long long long long long long wait, Mad Max is
FINALLY hitting DVD from Roadshow in September.
With the release of this DVD there is some good news and some bad news.....
The Bad news first. This DVD is so bare bones in
terms of extras, if it can from Columbia, they might have been inclinded to release this
under their "SuperBit DVD banner". Yes that's right, bugger all Extras for
Region 4 Mad Max folks!. While the USA release is loaded to the hilt, our little
Aussie verison contains merely a few trailers. Due to Licencing issues, we get
bugger all. This is an MGM title in the USA and they own the extras (same thing
happened With Jeepers Creepers)...aaaand,
like Jeepers, roadshow are making up for no extras, with a DTS5.1 audio track!
For the DVD release the audio was cleaned up and remixed
and encoded into dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1. The Dolby track is encoded at 448kbps and
the DTS... FULL BITRATE... 1509kbps! (given the vintage of Max it's gonna need all the
help it can get).
OH..and the picture was sourced from a nicely cleaned up Anamorphic Widescreen transfer.
